‘Perfect’ Full English breakfast image causes some debate

However, judging what the ‘perfect’ Full English is is definitely up for debate, although one person online claimed to have had it.

An image was shared on the r/BritInfo Reddit page, where a person posted: “Show me a better breakfast. I’ll wait.”

The breakfast in question included sausages, bacon, fried eggs, hash browns, mushrooms and black pudding on the plate, with a small pot of baked beans and bread to the side.

The bold claim of this being unmatched in the realm of the Full English breakfast didn’t go down too well in the comments, as people waded in with their verdict.

‘Perfect’ Full English breakfast image causes debate

There were plenty of criticisms aimed at the Full English breakfast image, with quite a few choosing the bread as a line of attack.

One said: “Doesn’t anyone fry bread any more?” which saw quite a few people agree with them.

Another said they should “at least toast it”, while a third wrote: “When did that go out of fashion? It’s not proper without a fried slice.”

Meanwhile, many decided to criticise the eggs which one person said looked “anaemic”.

Another joked that they thought the eggs looked like naan bread at first due to how overlapped they were on the plate.

A third stated: “The eggs really let that fry down, really poor eggs there.”

A lot of people didn’t hold back having a go at the whole thing, as one wrote: “Looks tasty but it’s a big thumbs down from me. There’s two reasons why this would get a giant raspberry in terms of being marked for quality.

“Mass produced naff Hash browns? Get in the bin. Those sausages? They look super low quality. The kind where the meat is more or less a paste in a tube. Move over hash brown’s there’s room in the bin for more!”

Another posted: “Frozen sausages and hash browns. Eggs look bad and overdone. Needs toast or fried bread. Terrible tbh.”

A third said: “too many mushrooms, no tomatoes, bread not toasted, eggs not Sunnyside up, using cheap sausages”.

Aside from these criticisms a few people suggested it would be improved with some tomatoes, in either a cooked or tinned variety, or by removing the mushrooms.
