The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) has introduced mine safety rules to over 300,000 people since the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
“Thanks to the efforts of the team of instructors, since the start of the full-scale invasion, over 300,000 people, including 191,000 children, have attended information sessions on the risks of explosive objects and the rules of safer behavior,” said URCS Director General Maksym Dotsenko.
As reported by the Communications and Marketing Department of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the programs focus on familiarizing with the types of mines and explosive objects, as well as on the basic rules of behavior in case they are discovered.
Informing about the risks of explosive objects is one of the key areas of activity of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, as the mine danger in Ukraine remains very high. Instructors continue to teach the population safer actions in case of detection of dangerous finds, because one of the main causes of accidents is the lack of clear algorithms of actions.
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society conducts training on the risks of explosive objects, cooperating with communities, educational institutions and government agencies.
