Nine Emba Cookware products are being recalled after “testing has identified potential migration of heavy metal components during use of the product”, the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has said.
The products being recalled are cast iron skillets and griddles available in various sizes.
They were sold between December 27, 2023, and January 24, 2025.
Emba Cookware products recalled due to “health risk”
The OPSS is recalling nine different Emba Cookware products. These are:
- Emba 8″ Cast Iron Skillet – 5056461700633
- Emba 10″ Cast Iron Skillet – 5056461700602
- Emba 12″ Cast Iron Skillet – 5056461700640
- Emba Skillet Collection (all skillets) – 5056461701050
- Pre-Seasoned Reversible Cast Iron Griddle – 5056461700596
- Emba Griddle and 8” Skillet Set – 5056461701029
- Emba Griddle and 10” Skillet Set – 5056461700626
- Emba Griddle and 12” Skillet Set – 5056461701036
- Emba Complete Cookware Collection (All skillets + griddle) – 5056461701043
Brits have been warned that if they own any of the products that they should stop using them “immediately”.
The OPSS said: “The products present a health risk as testing has identified potential migration of heavy metal components during use of the product.”

A spokesman for Emba Cookware added: “We have decided to recall certain items of Emba branded cookware, due to the potential migration of heavy metal components identified during recent testing.
“We believe it is prudent to issue a recall at this stage.
“The quality and safety of our cookware is our priority, and we regret that we may not have met the highest standards in this instance. We sincerely apologise.”
What to do if you have a product that has been recalled
If you have purchased one of the items listed, stop using it.
